Pet education/adoption day at Stoneridge Shopping Center

ARF, or Contra Costa County's Animal Rescue Fund, will have an adoption day at Stoneridge Mall tomorrow. A few animals will be on hand, and potential pet owners can view photos of animals available for adoption.

For the third consecutive year, Pleasanton's Trinity Lutheran Church is co-sponsoring a concert by the Tri-Valley's own 40+ member Bay Area Metro Men's Chorus. All proceeds from the barbershop-style performance will go to East Bay Habitat for Humanity to assist in its ongoing 22-home project in Livermore.

The chorus, with quartets, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sat. Oct. 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1225 Hopyard Road, Pleasanton. Ticket prices are $15 Adults, $12 Seniors, $10 Children (12 and under). Tickets will be available at the door or call 846-0221 for more information. Festival volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed to help set up for the Firehouse Family Festival 5K Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, October 2. The event benefits the Pleasanton Firehouse Art Center. Workers are needed for street closure barrier set-up, course monitoring, registration and finish line. The semi-annual Pleasanton Downtown Association Antique Faire will take place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 9 downtown. A vast array of quality antiques and collectibles from more than 425 dealers will be for sale. The Pleasanton event draws thousands, making it one of the largest antique fairs in the West.
