(September 23, 2005) Memorial for Pasco
The Pleasanton Police Department will be hosting a memorial dedication for police canine Pasco at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28. The dedication will be held at the City Council Chambers, 200 Old Bernal Ave.Police Chief Tim Neal will dedicate a memorial plaque in Pasco's honor. The event is open to the public.
Pasco died in July of this year after jumping from a second story window during a routine training drill. He was the first police canine killed in the line of duty since the canine program started in Pleasanton in 1974.
Apple store theft
Speakers and headphones with a total value of $1,553 were stolen from the Apple Store in Stoneridge Mall Sept. 16, police said. The theft was discovered by the Palo Alto Police Department which was running surveillance on the two suspects involved in the Pleasanton theft. No employees witnessed the crime.
According to the record surveillance tape, the two suspects entered the store, one wearing a suit and the other in a baseball cap. The suspects entered and left the store three times, each time walking to the rear of the store where they were out of view of the cameras.
