Like father, like son Like father, like son (June 17, 2005)

Strong genetics on the daddy side

Carol Bogart

Well, the photos are in and, in some, the resemblance between father and son is astonishing. Though most of the sons bear at least some resemblance to dad, in our subjective, thoroughly unscientific opinion, these are the six pairs, in no particular order, who we think look most alike:

SHALK - father Tim, son Brian

ENGEL - father Bud, son Scott

RAUN - father David, son Austin

STUDENDORFF - father Michael, son Chris

HOLMES - father Cornell, son Cornell, Jr.

NARVAEZ - father Joseph, son Tristan

Now, it's up to you to pick the winning pair. Please cast your ballot based on the last name and assigned number, and mail or e-mail your pick by June 20 to cbogart@pleasantonweekly.com. You can also drop off your selection at the Weekly, 4713 First St., to the attention of Carol Bogart.

In our Friday June 24 edition, we'll unveil the Pleasanton father and son you have judged to most look like each other. The winning pair will be featured in the Weekly on June 24. Again, the deadline to vote is June 20.

Thanks to all who participated - and Happy Father's Day!
