Pipeline report

Zone 7 Water Agency has completed is final environmental report for the Altamont Pipeline Project and is holding a public hearing to consider its certification. The meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the administrative offices, 5997 Parkside Drive in Pleasanton.

Zone 7 began the environmental report in January 2003 and released a draft report in September. The final report includes the comments received during a public comment period and oral comments at an Oct. 5 meeting. The report is posted on the Zone 7 Web site: www.zone7water.com, and also at the Pleasanton library.

The Altamont Pipeline would bring treated water from the future Altamont Water Treatment Plant to Zone 7's service area in the Livermore-Amador Valley. The project would entail construction of about 11 to 12 miles of pipeline, ending at the water transmission system near Kitty Hawk Road in Livermore. Open enrollment

Students in grades 1-12 may apply from Feb. 1-28. Those entering kindergarten students may apply from March 1-31. Applications are available in school offices and at the Pupil Services Department.
