Holiday Fund '04 Holiday Fund '04 (November 26, 2004)

The Pleasanton Weekly Holiday Fund was created to provide financial support from our readers for a select group of local nonprofit organizations to help alleviate the needs that exist, despite our community's prosperity. We are especially proud of three things that make the Holiday Fund special: Ą It benefits only local groups; Ą It doubles the dollars donated, thanks to the Tri-Valley Community Foundation, which provides matching funds; and Ą There is no overhead since our staff does the paperwork.

This is our second annual Pleasanton Weekly Holiday Fund. Last year's Holiday Fund allowed us to provide grants of over $8,500 to each of our five designated organizations: Axis Community Health Center, Open Heart Kitchen, Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council, Senior Support Program of the Tri-Valley and Tri-Valley Haven.

This year we are raising the bar, hoping to raise $75,000,and adding three recipients to our list: Kaleidoscope Activity Center, Ryan Comer Cancer Resource Center and Valley Humane Society.
