(September 17, 2004) Debralyn Kearn
Pleasanton resident Debralyn Kearn, 46, died Aug. 26.
The Fresno native was born on Jan. 21, 1958. She lived in Livermore for 30 years and was a local resident for the last four years.
She graduated from Los Angeles Community College and was a preschool teacher.
A member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Livermore, her hobbies included reading, biking, bird watching, playing board games, making crafts and poetry.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Onwuegbusi of New York City; her fiancˇ Mason Wright; her parents, Elaine and Charles Kearn of Fresno; her sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Greg Mogensen of Fresno; her brother, Bruce Kearn of Fresno; and her fiancˇ's parents, Dave and Roz Wright of Pleasanton.
A memorial service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7000 Village Parkway, Dublin 94568.
Rogarciano M. Espina
Rogarciano M. Espina, 89, died Aug. 28 in Pleasanton.
A Batangas City, Philippines, native, he was a professor, role model, mentor and friend to many. He will be remembered for his loving heart, generous spirit, quiet strength and sense of humor.
He leaves his wife Juliana; his children and their spouses, Edgardo and Nellie, Flordeliza and Ted Noriega, Agnes and Viyo Feliciano, Mandy Pineda; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many other family members.
A Mass celebrating his life was held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church with a private interment.

Iretha Smith Bridgers
Iretha Smith Bridgers, a longtime Pleasanton resident, died Aug. 28. She was 76.
Born in Rock Mount, N.C., on May 2, 1928, she lived here for 34 years and in Dayton, Ohio, for five years.
A homemaker, she loved to sing and play the piano, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and loved her dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leon Rudolph Bridgers; three daughters, Cynthia Herrera of Livermore, Deborah Voelker of Galt, Calif., and Bridget Camara of Tuolumne, Calif.; two brothers; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary.
Bill Stewart
Pleasanton resident Bill Stewart died Aug. 29. He was 48.
Born in Castro Valley on Feb. 10, 1956, he had lived here for the last 12 years.
A devoted father, husband and family man, he was an assistant coach at Harvest Park Middle School. He also coached CYO at St. Augustine Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cecilia Stewart; his sons, Jason, Steven and Cameron Stewart, all of Pleasanton; his mother, Gertrude Stewart; a brother, Everett Stewart Jr. of Elk Grove, Calif.; and two sisters, Beverly Davis of Sacramento and Barbara Kaloostian of Haines, Alaska.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, and he was buried at St. Michael's Cemetery in Livermore.
Jeanette Marie Quisenberry
Livermore resident Jeanette Marie Quisenberry, 29, died Sept. 6.
She was born on June 8, 1975, in San Diego, where she was raised. A coach at Tri-Valley Gymnastics, she had worked there since she was 15. Always positive and cheerful, she loved her job and the kids she coached.
She also enjoyed being with her family and friends, and she adored her children and was a model mother.
She leaves two children, Kylie Quisenberry-Griffin of Livermore and Christian Quisenberry of Sacramento; her fiancˇ, Paul Jason Griffin; her mother, Marie Quisenberry of Livermore; her father and his companion, Jim Quisenberry and Lori Frates, both of Pleasanton; a sister, Sara Quisenberry of Pleasanton; and a brother, Daniel Quisenberry of San Ramon.
A memorial service was held at Callaghan Mortuary in Livermore.
Lola Hill
Lola Hill, 86, of Pleasanton, died Sept. 4 in the Pleasanton Care facility.
Born May 1, 1918, in Harlan, Iowa, to Cecile Marie Burgett and Elbert Hopkins Davidson, she moved with her parents to Yakima, Wash.
On September 8, 1945, in Vallejo, she married Robert Reeves Hill, of Lebanon, Tenn. Her husband was a career Navy man, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. She had also been married to Joseph B. Wildman, whom she divorced.
During the Hill's marriage, the couple lived throughout California, including Vallejo, San Diego, San Francisco and Modesto. They also lived in Alaska and Oahu, Hawaii, before moving here in the mid-1990s to be near her son, Pleasanton's former Fire Chief Joseph B. Hill.
For many years, she worked for the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
A homemaker, office-worker and loving mother and grandmother, she had a cheerful disposition, and in her later years, she enjoyed reminiscing about growing up on a farm where she milked cows, fed pigs and picked apples and cherries.
By faith a Presbyterian, she loved sewing, cooking, menu-making and especially baking. Her children and husband always woke to her cheerful "good morning, rise and shine" and went to bed with her "night-nights."
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Louetta Hill of Pleasanton; her daughter and son-in-law, Dolores Marie and John Meermans of Half Moon Bay; and three grandsons, their wives and seven grandchildren. Also surviving her is Frank Burch of San Antonio, Texas, her companion of 11 years; a former daughter-in-law; a nephew and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
Burial was held at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno and a private family gathering will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the city's Meals on Wheels program.
