(September 17, 2004) Sign being fixed
Two people responded to a recent plea to fix a battered sign of the Valley Humane Society on Spring Street. Vice President Gay Maestas wrote a letter to the editor that ran in the Pleasanton Weekly asking for help that ran Sept. 3, and two people called her to offer to pound the sign back into shape, she reported. Manny Badilla, representing Pleasanton Steel & Supply Co., will be repairing the sign.
"I'm impressed," said Maestas. "Thank you to these two gentlemen for responding."

In Livermore, Open Heart Kitchen will be staffing a food booth at an annual flea market at Asbury United Methodist Church, 4743 East Ave. Eight people are needed from 7-11:30 a.m. to set up, prepare and serve lunches; and from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. to prepare and serve lunches and cleanup.
To volunteer, call Tina Gregory at 580-1619.
