(May 28, 2004) Joseph Morrow III
Joseph Gardner Lee Morrow III died May 9 in Walnut Creek. He was 36.
Born on Oct. 30, 1967, he had been a Bay Area resident for 15 years, living in Contra Costa County for four years.
A financial consultant with M.L. Stern in San Francisco, he had also served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Shasta during the Gulf War's Desert Storm and attended Cal State Hayward.
He was a member of Crosswinds Church in Dublin and the Tri-Valley Rotary Club in Pleasanton, serving as the Rotary International Foundation chairman.
His survivors include his mother, Mary Irene Morrow, and his father, Joseph Morrow Jr., both of Martinsburg, W.V.
Services were held at the Pleasanton Hotel.

Fern Green
Fern "Mimi" Green died May 14 at Kaiser Medical Center in Walnut Creek. She was 92.
Born in Aurora, Mo., on Nov. 25, 1911, she was a Bay Area resident since 1956 and had lived in Pleasanton for the last 20 years.
She retired in 1977 from the Piedmont Unified School District, where she was a secretary for a junior high school principal.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Tom Schukle of Livermore; and Mark and Karen Schukle, Wendy and Sebastian Rovira, Amanda Schukle of San Diego and their families. She is also survived by a sister, two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Rufus Green, preceded her in death in 1964.
A memorial service was held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary and a private interment service was held at Mountain View Cemetery.
Walter Gwin
Walter T. Gwin, a longtime Pleasanton resident, died May 15 at ValleyCare Medical Center. He was 76.
Born in Seattle on July 23, 1927, he had lived in Pleasanton for the last 30 years.
The World War II veteran served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Breckinridge. He was employed for AT&T for 36 years and was an area supervisor.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Rose Gwin; a daughter, Sharon Marts of Granite Bay, Calif.; a stepson, John Styles of Pleasanton; a stepdaughter, Rose Duncan of Tracy; three sisters and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Calif.
