Rosemary & Kenneth Harris

Rosemary and Kenneth Harris, who married on May 8, 1954, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family at the Pleasanton Convalescent Hospital, where Ken is currently residing. Father Nick Glisson of St. Augustine Catholic Church gave the couple a special blessing.

Rosemary Izzo met Ken in Washington, D.C., where he was assigned while serving in the U.S. Navy. Rosemary, who had just graduated from nursing school, went to Washington to see the singer Jaye P. Morgan.

The couple married in Jeanette, Penn., at the Church of Ascension and have two children and three grandchildren.

The couple has lived in Pleasanton for 33 years. Ken retired from the Navy after 20 years service and Rosemary was a registered nurse for 35 years.
