(May 07, 2004) What does Mother's Day mean to you?
Asked on Main Street
Becky Franck
Fifth-grade teacher at Fairlands
Mother's Day is so important because without my mom, I wouldn't be here, and my 3-month-old son Kyle wouldn't be here either. We're going to celebrate with a barbecue at the new Val Vista park.
Jessica Frost
Serena Court
It's a day when you celebrate everything that your mom has done for you and a day when you treat her like she's the queen.
Liz Sufit with daughter Hannah
Wingate Drive
For me it's the continuity of the special day. I celebrated my mother, and my children are going to celebrate me, and we'll go forth from there.
Amy Shenan
Loganberry Way
What I like about Mother's Day is our traditional brunch we have at my house for my mother, my mother-in-law, my grandmother-in-law, my children and my sisters and their families. We make it a truly special day.
Ruth Gaston
Pleasanton Adult Ed teacher
As a parenting educator, I think mothers have the biggest impact on how the next generation turns out. I'm glad there is a day that honors that.
