Tours planned for heritage homes
(March 19, 2004) Group to show 16 historic houses
A group called Friends of Pleasanton Heritage has scheduled a "Heritage Home Stroll" from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 1
This self-guided tour will include visits inside 16 historic homes in the downtown section of Pleasanton, including on St. Mary Street and along Second Street. Another 10 will be part of a walk-by tour, with information on all of the homes in a brochure participants will have. Docents from the Museum On Main Street will be on hand in the homes opened for inside tours to describe the history and furnishings of the homes.
Tickets for the home stroll can be obtained in advance by sending a check for $20 to Rebecca Bruner, Museum On Main Street, 603 Main St., Pleasanton, CA 94566. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event at a kiosk located directly across Main Street from the museum. Those buying a ticket will also receive the brochure, a tour map of the homes and a coupon that can be exchanged for a refreshment at La Crema d'Italia (formerly the Coffee Roast Express) at 780 Main St.
Besides Bruner, others on the Friends of Pleasanton Heritage committee are Lori Barry, Jo Hunter, Pat Burns, Ed Kinney, Angela Aloise, Chad Huston, Charles Huff and Denise Howe.
