Looking for 'respect'

Nominations for the Community of Character trait "respect" are being accepted through March 12. Nominations may be e-mailed to Jerri Long, jlong@pleasanton.k12.ca.us, or by mailing nominations to the attention of Long at Community of Character, c/o Pleasanton Unified School District, 4665 Bernal Ave., Pleasanton 94566.

The trait respect is defined as using good manners and not bad language, being considerate, honoring the feelings of others and dealing peacefully with anger, insults or disagreements.

Nominations must include the name of the person or organization nominated; a contact telephone number or e-mail to reach the nominee; and a detailed description for the nomination.

The Community of Character traits have been recognized by the school district, the city and a coalition of businesses, organizations and churches by honoring individuals nearly every month for the past seven months who exemplify the attribute. Past traits were honesty, responsibility, compassion and self-discipline. Party needs music
