Demonstrators with signs call out to passing motorists at Valley Avenue and Hopyard Road to honk in support of American troops in Iraq. A 100-strong contingent of flag-waving people rallied last Saturday at the busy intersection. Rally organizer Debi Burdette said that the demonstrations will continue on a daily basis from 4 to 6 p.m. until American service personnel "are out of harm's way." "Even after the war is over, we will be rallying in support of the financial, moral and emotional needs of the families in Pleasanton affected by this military effort," she said.
