John M. 'Johnny' Pitman Jr.

John M. "Johnny" Pitman Jr., 23, died with Robbie LaRosa, his best friend of 17 years, in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, July 28. He was born in Burlingame on Aug. 29, 1978, and lived in Pleasanton for 17 years. He was a 1996 graduate of Foothill High School.

He was an entertainment promoter of music and films for the past three years and recently produced an independent film. He also worked in 2000-2001 as a mechanic at Steve's Valero (formerly Exxon) in Pleasanton.

He is survived by his parents Linda G. and John M. Pitman Sr. of Pleasanton; brother Tony Pitman of Pleasanton; grandmother Marion Caputa of San Mateo; and numerous cousins, aunt and uncles; and many, many close friends.

Visitation is from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. today, Aug. 2; and 9-10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, 4167 First St. A vigil is being held at 7:30 p.m. today, Aug. 2, at Graham-Hitch Mortuary.

A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4001 Stoneridge Drive. Donations can be made to the charity of choice. Robert A. 'Robbie' LaRosa

Robert A. "Robbie" LaRosa, 23, died in an automobile accident early Sunday morning, July 28, on Interstate 580 in Livermore, along with his best friend, Johnny Pitman. He was a resident of Tracy since 2000, and lived in Pleasanton from 1979-2000. He was a graduate of Amador Valley High. He was born March 9, 1979, in Hayward.

He was a guitarist and vocalist with the band "Fellatia" for the past seven years. He was also employed since December 2001 at Lowe's Home Improvement store in Livermore.

He is survived by his parents Brenda LaRosa and Vincent A. LaRosa, who recently retired from the Pleasanton school district, of Tracy; brother Jim LaRosa of Tracy; stepbrother Charles Keeton of Livermore; stepsister Laurena Keeton of Pleasanton; grandmother Betty Keeton of San Leandro; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousin.
