Singing Workshop
The Pleasanton Playhouse will be hosting a series of four workshops during the fall, each focusing in a specific area of theatrical arts. The second is an acting workshop taught by Cary Litchford. Concerts

Harmony Crossroads Chorus
Harmony Crossroads Chorus, a women’s four-part barbershop chorus, will hold its annual show at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Amador Theater, featuring music by George Gershwin, Irving Berlin and George M.Cohen. Ballroom Dance

Annual Pops Concert
The Livermore-Amador Symphony Guild presents its annual pops concert with the “POPS a la Boston” program, featuring “Toy Symphony,” performed by the Livermore-Amador Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Arthur Barnes, soloist Robert Stansberry and the Valley Dance Theater dancers. Antique Street Faire
More than 400 antique dealers from the Western states will have antiques and collectibles on display and for sale at the Downtown Pleasanton Antique Street Faire from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, on Main Street. Crop Walk
Crop Walk is an interfaith, community fund-raising event designed to raise awareness of hunger and hunger relief. The annual walk will take place at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 14, and will circle Lake Merritt, beginning and ending at the First Congregational Church of Oakland at 27th and Harrison Streets. Del Valle Dog Show

Make a Difference Festival

Ruby Hill Giving Thanks Charity Ball
Tickets are on sale for the fifth annual event to be held Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Grand Pavilion, 2900 East Ruby Hill Drive. This year’s theme is “Une Nuit Au Cirque.” The ball will include a gourmet dinner, wines from local wineries and silent and live auctions for items such as a trip to the Super Bowl and a European vacation. Tom Burnett Memorial Fund Benefit

Walk for the Gold

Amador Livermore Valley Museum
The museum, located at 603 Main St., features rotating exhibits and heritage photographs of the Tri-Valley area. Yesteryear platform exhibits display early lifestyles of the community. The Archives and Reference Library contains photos, maps, manuscripts and oral interviews. Group tours may be scheduled by calling 462-2766. Admission is free.

Marcel Duchamp
Artist, humorist, philosopher Marcel Duchamp is highlighted in the California State University, Hayward, Festival, which includes a comprehensive selection of his visual work on exhibit, a symposium of San Francisco Bay Area critics and scholars, theater and dance presentations and a panel discussion on the significance of Duchamp’s influence as an artist. The exhibit opening will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the University Art Gallery and will be on display through Feb. 20. The gallery hours are noon-3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Mining History of the East Bay
Learn about the geology of the Tri-Valley while exploring the diverse collection of minerals displayed at the Amador Livermore Valley Historical Museum, through Oct. 28. CPR Classes
The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department offers cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes taught by firefighters. Eating Right
Whole Foods Market is sponsoring a monthly information lecture and dining series on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Whole Foods Market in San Ramon. Tri-Valley Parkinson’s Disease Support Group
The group is open to all patients with Parkinson’s disease, care givers, family members, and others that have an interest in the disease.
