Lois Kessler

Lois Kessler, a resident of Fullerton, died July 27 at the age of 66.

She worked as a chemist for General Electric in Pleasanton and was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Livermore. She enjoyed the outdoors, including gardening, camping and hiking. She also enjoyed playing the piano and card games.

She leaves sons Wayne Kessler of Pennsylvania, Mark Kessler of California, Dean Kessler of Washington; mother Rhoda Kimes of Ocean Shores, Wash.; sister Helen Lord of Ocean Shores; and five grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Aug. 3 at the First Presbyterian Church followed by a reception at the Fellowship Hall in Livermore.

The burial followed the reception at Roselawn Cemetery in Livermore.

The family asks that memorial donations be sent to the Heifer Project International (HPI), P.O. Box 126, Ceres, CA 95307; the First Presbyterian Church of Livermore, 2020 First St., Livermore, CA 94550; or to Valley Memorial Hospital, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, 5565 W. John 'Jack' Peltier Kerr

John "Jack" Peltier Kerr, a 15-year resident of Pleasanton, died July 29 at the age of 70.

He was a maintenance engineer for Avalon Communities for 10 years and was an active member of A.A. He also attended St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Pleasanton.

He liked jazz music, Italian food, dancing, fishing and golf.

He leaves son Greg Meals of Connecticut; daughter Pauline Story of Texas; sister Patricia Cassidy of Pleasanton; and three grandchildren.

A memorial Mass was celebrated Aug. 3 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.

The burial is at Saranac Cemetery in Saranac, Mich.

Helen M. Bailey

Helen M. Bailey, a 22-year resident of Pleasanton, died July 29 at the age of 87.

She worked as a secretary for AC Transit for 38 years, and was a member of VIP, the Pleasanton Business Woman's Association and AC Transit Retirees. She was also a volunteer at the Valley Memorial Thrift Shop. And she played bridge with a local bridge club.

She loved to travel and spend time with her family.

She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Sheridan and Donna Dickey of San Ramon; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Aug. 5 at the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church.

Her burial is at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Pleasanton.

The family asks that memorial donations be sent to American Cancer Society, Tri-Valley Unit, 7000 Village Parkway, Suite E, Dublin, CA 94568.
Judith Clarice Gehring Wright

Judith Clarice Gehring Wright, a longtime Bay Area resident, died July 18 at the age of 65.

She grew up in San Francisco, Menlo Park and Orinda and graduated from UC Berkley with a degree in mathematics. After her marriage she lived in Livermore, San Ramon and the Palomares Hills.

She leaves her husband of 39 years, Jim Wright; sons and daughters-in-law Peter and Natalie Wright of Pleasanton, Erich Wright of Pacifica, and John and Brina Wright of Pleasanton; brother and sister-in-law Erich Conrad Gehring and Sheelah Gehring of Mariposa; and two grandchildren.

Her parents, Conrad Jacob and Clarice Esther Hudson Gehring, preceded her in death.

Services were held privately.
