Plans are underway to transform the Old Fire Station No. 1 into a first-class, small arts center with a state-of-the-art small theater for plays, dramatic presentations, musical events and lectures. There will be a strong emphasis on productions involving young people. A visual arts gallery and rooms for instruction in painting, sculpture and other visual arts are also planned. The Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council has established the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation for long-term fundraising for arts programs and buildings in Pleasanton, including this project.
