Girls Night Out Networking

For California's foster kids, going back to school often means starting at a new school. To ease their first-day jitters, Sleep Train is hosting its School Supply Drive for Foster Kids now through Aug. 9 at any Sleep Train location.

'Fun With Science' Summer Series
Come explore the Discovery Center and take part in the "Fun With Science" program designed for 5th graders, a fun way to see and participate in science experiments that explain states of matter, air pressure, density, electricity, light and chemistry. Held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 10, 17; July 1, 15; Aug. 6, 12 at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Discovery Center. Registration required. Widow/Widowers Grief Recovery Group
Have you or someone you know experienced the death of a spouse recently or within the last few years? Sharing experiences during this 10-week class is extremely helpful to the healing process. Special Art Exhibits: William Rushton and Victoria Veedell
Enjoy two unique exhibits, the dense oils of William Rushton and the atmospheric landscapes of Victoria Veedell. Rushton's pieces will be on display now-Aug. 26 in the Grand Atrium Lobby, and Veedell's will be on display now-Sept. 5 in the main floor gallery. Body Image Anonymous (BIA/BDD)
Body Image Anonymous is a support group for those living with Body Dysmorphic Disorder or other related body image disorders. Support Groups

Pleasanton Military Families Support Group
Formed in 2003 this group provides support and comfort to the Pleasanton families whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. The group has monthly meetings and other events such as "pack outs" of comfort and care items for deployed members of the armed forces. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where streamers are displayed with the name, rank and branch of service of Pleasanton military personnel. Learn more at


Senior Mens Social Club
Sons In Retirement (SIR) is a social club for senior men. In addition to friendships, members can participate in interest groups like golf, bridge, travel, photography, etc. We meet for lunch first Thursday of the month at San Ramon Golf Club. Peddler Shoppe at the Senior Center
The Peddler Shoppe in the lobby of the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., offers the handmade wares of talented local senior artisans. It's a great place to buy gifts. Transcribing for You
Transcribing for You has volunteers that will transcribe and print your letters to be sent. The service is located at the Dublin Senior Center, 7600 Amador Valley Blvd, Dublin, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost is $1.50. Seniors are invited to a Beginning Latin Line Date from 1-2:15 p.m. Tuesdays; cost is $12 for four classes per month or $15 for five classes per month. Dublin Senior Center Programs
Dublin Senior Center offers different programs and activities including "ESL" which helps seniors practice their English conversational skills, a Reading Group that meets monthly to discuss new books and a Needle Arts Group that enjoys quilting, sewing and knitting. Dublin Senior Center Mini-Library
The Dublin Senior Center Mini-Library is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday at the senior center, 7600 Amador Valley Blvd., Dublin. The library gladly accepts donations of like-new used books published in the last five years, puzzles, magazines within three months of distribution, and videotapes. Farmers Market
