Kids & TeensPtown Life Essay Contest
Ptownlife.org will host its 3rd Annual Essay Contest, with the theme "Someone You Look Up To and Why." There will be two categories, high school students (grades 9-12) and middle school students (grades 6-8). The contest is open to all students in the Tri-Valley. Contest ends Oct. 23. Support GroupsPleasanton Military Families Support Group
Formed in 2003 this group provides support and comfort to the Pleasanton families whose loved ones are deployed in the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. The group has monthly meetings and other events such as "pack outs" of comfort and care items for deployed members of the armed forces. The group also sponsors the Yellow Streamer program on Main Street where streamers are displayed with the name, rank and branch of service of Pleasanton military personnel.
